By shedding unsympathetic past alterations, the Scott Street project allows a hundred-year-old cottage to breathe again. Original architectural elements are meticulously restored or recycled into a new extension. Crafted with modesty, the design cleverly introduces light and connection to a confined, shadowed property.

Conceptually envisioned as a deck extension, this Carrington renovation responds creatively to its tight periphery by pulling the surrounding neighborhood character and raw material palette directly into its design. The project prioritizes natural daylight and seamless internal connections. The resulting design transforms the boundaries of a compact plot into an active spatial asset, striking a deliberate balance between heritage preservation, site constraints, and open, contemporary living.
